We recently visited the famously haunted Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs as part of our sightseeing of the town and snapped a few photos of this eerily beautiful building. We didn’t stay overnight, but got to take a good look at the exterior of the building and the lobby for some wonderfully spooky vibes. All photos posted here were taken during our August 2026 visit to Eureka Springs.
The Crescent Hotel was designed by American architect Isaac S. Taylor and was built in the mountainous town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 1886. It has a long history of reported hauntings, the most famous being ghost sightings in Room 218, or “Michael’s room,” where an Irish stonemason named Michael fell to his death while working on the building’s construction in the 1880s. The hotel’s numerous paranormal events and dark history has earned it the name “America’s Most Haunted Hotel.” The Crescent Hotel was built from native Arkansas limestone and has served as a women’s college, a hospital that was later found to be a fraudulent cancer curing establishment, and now it is a restored resort and a member of Historic Hotels of America.
